3rd Grade

In 3rd grade, students thrive in a supportive environment in which they are encouraged to become more independent. We focus on taking responsibility for academics and projects as well as building self-confidence.

This year marks an exciting transformation from learning how to read to reading to learn. Major strides are made in polishing and expanding knowledge and the use of proper writing mechanics. Students are empowered to rise to a challenge using resources at their fingertips to become independent problem solvers.

Public speaking is an area of focus in third grade. Our 3rd grade students visit WNUV the CW in Baltimore to experience a television studio and learn about communication. They also visit the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. This visit supports their love of music as they begin to learn how to play the violin in the 3rd grade.
