St. John’s Annual Giving Fund

Thanks to your support, we exceeded our goal of $50,000 for the 2020-2021 Annual Fund!

Our generous culture of philanthropy depends on significant and unrestricted annual contributions from parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, alumni, trustees, faculty and staff, corporations, and friends. Gifts to the Annual Fund not only support the people and programs that make St. John’s extraordinary but also help:

  • Cover expenses such as professional development for our faculty to allow them to bring innovation in education into their classroom
  • Maintenance and improvement of our building and grounds
  • Technology enhancements and updates
  • Attract and retain outstanding staff
  • Minimize tuition increases

Like nearly every other independent school, St. John’s relies on tax-deductible gifts to help bridge the gap between the tuition and the actual cost of educating our students. We count on this fund to make up the difference.

We welcome you to join one of our Giving Clubs and receive special recognition:

Spirit Bear Club – $250-$499
Acorn Club – $500-$999
Leaf Club – $1000-$1999
Flame Club – $2000-$9999
Heart Club – $10,000+

 Make a gift

General Annual Fund – Used where it is most needed.

Faculty Professional Development and Resources – Your gift will be applied towards valuable workshops (Avg. cost- $50), Professional Seminars (Avg. cost- $250), Graduate courses (Avg. cost- $1000- $1500), and other important staff opportunities.
Technology – Items immediately needed: RAM cards to give current computers a memory upgrade for faster connectivity in the classroom ($30), classroom projectors ($120), iPads ($500), and new Chromebooks ($600).

Scholarships & Grants – Scholarships play a vital role in making a St. John's education a reality for many students. Your gift will help a family realize their dream of a St. John's education for their child. A donation of any amount is impactful. We deeply value our diverse population, it enriches our students' educational experience in many ways. Without a scholarship fund, many talented students would not be able to afford the cost of an independent school education.

Endowment Fund – A strong endowment is a sure sign that a school’s longevity is guaranteed. An endowment is an investment fund that schools establish in order to have the ability to regularly draw upon the invested capital. The goal is to grow the money over time by investing it and not touching the vast majority.

Legacy Gifts – Make a gift that costs nothing during your lifetime, but which helps secure the future for SJPDS. By making a bequest in your will, you and your loved ones enjoy the benefits of your assets today, while knowing you’ve made a difference for the students of tomorrow.
You don’t have to be wealthy to leave a legacy; there are a number of IRS incentives and estate planning options that can help you make a significant, lasting difference at St. John's. We’d be happy to discuss various plans with you, your family, or your financial planner. If you have decided to include us in your estate plans, please let us know. We would like to thank you for your generosity, and make sure the purpose of your gift is understood by the School.
Cash and Checks – Make checks payable: St. John's Parish Day School. Mail or bring  to:  St. John's Parish Day School, School Office, 9130 Fredrick Road, Ellicott City, MD 21042.

Employer Matching Program – Many companies match the philanthropic gifts given by their employees. Check with your company to see if they will match your donation to our school!

Make a Pledge – Contact the Development Office to make a pledge to St. John's payable prior to June 30, 2021.

Planned Gifts – Make a donation that can benefit you and SJPDS for a lifetime. For stock donation or to provide for SJPDS in estate and financial plans.
St. John's Parish Day School is a 501 (c)3 tax-exempt entity. Tax ID: 52-0591545. Your gift is tax-deductible and donations of all sizes truly make a difference.
