Welcome to St. John’s! 

St. John’s Parish Day School is a premier academic, coeducational Episcopal school for 3-year-old through Grade 5 students. There are so many things to treasure about this lovely institution! Since 1965, our hallmark has been educating and nurturing students to achieve and oftentimes surpass their combined personal and standard goals both academically and socially, while grooming them to become responsible global citizens. With Early Childhood and Lower School divisions, SJPDS has the privilege of shaping students in these important and formative years not only scholastically, but physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Located in the heart of Ellicott City, our tightly knit student body reflects the diversity and inclusivity of our surrounding communities. 

Our mission is to educate a culturally diverse community of children with a stimulating and challenging curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment. We foster spiritual grounding in the Episcopal tradition with respect for the dignity and beliefs of everyone. We give our students a foundation to use their individual gifts, encourage them to rise to their full potential, and give them the tools to grow as strong independent thinkers, people of sound character, and active stewards of the world. 

 Our job as teachers, administrators, family, and community leaders is to foster that spark within every child - nurture it, fuel it and be the catalyst for a lifelong love of learning! We take pride in the fact that our graduates are well-prepared to be accepted into the best middle schools of their choice as well as be positioned for the inevitable challenges of high school, college, and beyond. Our graduates are often placed into higher-level classes with advanced studies.
