We are excited to share a wonderful new video introducing Lori Dembo, our new Head of School, starting July 1, 2019.

my name is Lori dembo I am your new head of school at St John's I'm thrilled to be here I give so excited I am a people person and I can't wait to get to know each and everyone of you I need to have two beautiful sons or wonderful and the new daughter-in-law's within the past two years I have a grandson and a new granddaughter coming this summer so it's going to be an exciting summer for Nae I love to travel I enjoy so much if someone says go on a trip I'm ready to go tell me where and I'll be there last year I went to Ireland it was a beautiful country I explored the culture it was quite extensive and lovely to experience that with friends solo travel is fun for me I enjoy so many things but mostly it's getting to know people working with families with children watching children learn and grow and I'm thrilled to be part of st. John balancing the new with the Innovative with the traditions of St John's will be very important for me as the next head of school you have great ingrained the Traditions that we went to keep but we also need to embrace technology. two things that are happening in the world and help children learn how to learn with that comes professional development with your teachers and working hard with them and learning with them and watching them grow if something is good for St Johns we need to bring it here we need to embrace that we need pilot it for a year or two and see if it works and if it does we keep it if it doesn't we move on him and find what pieces are good I was excited the very first time I came here to meet with everyone it seems like a family then you have the church piece I'm very excited about that as well because I think it just Browns you and it drowns children and it gives us all away to blend I'm bond together as of community and I think that's key to any school is that have that extra pieces well St John has an excellent reputation and I knew that coming in that it's just a good place for Premier academics I'm excited about this next challenge in my career as well if I've been a academic Dean I was a lower school head and I've been excited to take on the next challenge of a new community as well as leadership I look forward to working with everyone I'm very much a team player I think that we are all served better if we can be a good productive team and that's what I'm looking forward to to be a part of this wonderful team such an easy question because I love children I enjoy everyday with them they keep you young they make you laugh watching them learn something new and experiencing how to learn just learning how to learn and how to be themselves as a person how to think outside of the box and then when they accomplished something that they thought was hard or difficult or maybe not fun and so proud of themselves when they have that baja moment those are my favorite moments with children I'm moving to this area I am not familiar with the area I want to get involved in everything all the local community Local Schools independent play Procol join Episcopal School Consortium and enjoy learning and growing and Howard County once again I am worried about your new head of school begin in July one 2019 I am so excited to be here I can't wait to see you all by everyone
