Early Childhood and Lower School Siblings Care gives families the ability to drop-off and pick-up their children at the same time. Only an Early Childhood sibling of a Lower School sibling may arrive after 8:15 a.m. for Before Care. The same child may stay as late as 3:30 p.m. for pick-up at no additional fee.
The two cornerstones of the SJPDS Childcare exceed the staff to student ratio set by the State of Maryland.
- Before Care is supervised care for St. John’s students who are three years of age or older. It begins as early as 7:00 a.m.
- After Care is supervised care from the end of instructional day until as late as to 6:00 p.m. Children receive safe care in a relaxed environment. The afternoon includes outdoor/supervised games, an SJPDS snack, homework/reading session and general fun with their peers.
On days when the school has a noon dismissal or when teachers are at school and children have the day off, parents are able to receive childcare services. These days are built into the cost of several Childcare Plans. In addition, families who just wish to receive childcare Before or After Care occasionally or never are eligible for these specific days until 3:00 p.m.
Children attending Childcare must be three years of age or older and able to use the restroom on their own.
