Hydroponic Salad at SJPDS

Over the last few months, SJPDS students of all ages have been working with the new Hydroponics Lab in STEM class to grow vegetables! Students planted lettuce and basil and have been tending to their garden with the help of Mrs. Wilkins. After many weeks of hard work and care, our students were able to harvest our crop and taste the fruits (veggies!) of our labor!

Fourth graders harvested and bagged the lettuce and then helped to serve it to our Lower School students in the form of a salad bar at lunch! So many of our students took advantage of this exciting treat and had fresh, homegrown salad with their lunch! It has been a true SJPDS Farm-to-Table Experience, and we can't wait to continue our efforts and grow more food for our school. Go Bears!
