Parent Chats

St. John's Parish Day School has started an initiative to invite and host Guest Speaker Events to draw parents, teachers, and our neighbors together for important fellowship and stimulation by professionals who can offer state-of-the-art insight into parenting and education.  These events are organized by our very own Learning Specialist Mrs. Beth Hardon.
Our first chat was on March 8th and was called Resiliency in our Children: What is it? Why do we want it? How do we get it? and was presented by Edie Schatz, LCSW-C, LLC who has a psychotherapy practice that specializes in working with children and their families. The chat centered on learning about what a growth mindset was, and how to help yourself and your children to adopt one. You can learn more about Edie via her website.

Upcoming Chats

Our next chat will be given by Amy Abell. Amy is a certified Health & Wellness Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and has added additional coursework through the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. She is also a mother of two St. John’s Parish Day School alumni: A rising senior at Mt. De Salles and a rising freshman at Mt. Hebron. Her presentation is geared to parents and is about “Advancing Your Family’s Health in the Real World!”. You can get to know Amy via her website.
