"We recognized the outstanding job your staff does with the children in your care. Watching my two grandchildren simply blossom each time I see them reflects the educational commitment you have made to your students. I cannot thank you enough!"

– Dr. Michael and Patricia Nunno, Grandparents

"St. Johns Parish Day School (SJPDS) has been a perfect fit for our Kindergartener during the 2020-2021 school year! Though we love our local public school system, we looked for in-person options once our public schools moved to fully virtual learning, and we are thrilled we joined the SJPDS community. We had always heard others speak favorably about SJPDS, so we looked into it and we're fortunate there was one spot left. Simply stated, our son has thrived. He was an enthusiastic, bright learner before, and the school - and his teacher, Mrs. Bates - really helped maximize these qualities in him. The quality and care of instruction have been top-notch. Mrs. Bates has cared for her students’ social, academic, and emotional well-being, and she took tremendous initiative in getting to know each student. While the Kindergarten curriculum was full of fun in a nurturing environment, it also challenged our son academically, which we appreciated. We value the diversity in the school as well as the varied curriculum, including Spanish, Chapel, and traditional specials such as music, art, media, and PE.

Additionally, we appreciate the focus on healthy character-building and kindness. The school seems to be a well-oiled machine: when local cases of Covid were on the rise earlier this year, the school seamlessly pivoted to short-term virtual learning. While in-person, the school maintained Covid-aware and took great measures to ensure the health and safety of all. Overall, communication from the school has been consistent and informative. The teachers all look happy at drop-off and pick-up time, and staff has been accessible. This year has been a wonderful experience for our son and family!"

"St. John's Parish Day School is a wonderful place of learning made very special by the faculty and staff's dedication to excellence, and love of children. The campus is beautiful and impressive, but inside the school's doors, there is an atmosphere of warmth, respect, and community. I'm grateful and excited that an institution of learning like this still exists, where children and families are embraced, encouraged, and uplifted. Our family couldn't help but be drawn in."

"Like so many others, my husband and I moved to Howard County because of its public school system's stellar reputation. Sending our children to private school was never in our plans, but 2020 changed everything and opened our eyes to new possibilities and we stumbled upon an absolute educational gem in St. John's Parish Day School!  My children have thrived in so many ways since joining the SJPDS family this year.  They look forward to going to school every day and even enjoy completing their (substantive) homework!  My children love every SJPDS teacher and staff member and my 5th grader told me that she enjoys reading and writing again and said that "the teachers actually seem to enjoy being around kids here."

The educational instruction that SJPDS offers is top-notch. The teachers place an emphasis on true educational basics - reading, writing, spelling, social science, science, math and even handwriting!  They include the social-emotional content through morning meetings and daily chapel sessions in which the kids can be active participants. SJPDS encourages leadership, independence, kindness - every quality that a parent would want a school to help instill in a child. I highly recommend St. John's Parish Day School to anyone who is feeling like their child's current educational placement isn't serving them in the best way possible. Sending our kids to SJPDS has been the best educational decision we have made for our children (and their social-emotional stability and growth) and has been completely worth the financial investment."

"I am part of the second graduating class at St.John's and I can very much say that St. John's has helped morph who I am as a young adult. Even after graduation, I still attend church here, as well as being an employee in the aftercare program. All of the faculty and staff are warm and inviting, and truly there to nurture your child's learning experience. This is by a long run one of the best private elementary education institutions in Maryland."

— Miss Richardson, Alumni

"From the moment the St. John's students opened the door for us at Open House, we knew we had made the right choice. The kindness, love, and thirst for knowledge extending throughout the hallways is extraordinary. Our children have been given an incredible foundation for their future that coincides with our fundamental beliefs for them to lead happy and successful lives."

"We love St. John's Parish Day School! We've been a part of the SJPDS Family for 5 years now. Our daughter started in the transitional kindergarten program and our son in the 3s program. They are now in the 4th and 2nd grade and are truly thriving. The teachers and specialists at SJPDS are top quality and are always eager to find new and challenging ways to engage our children. If you are looking for a supportive community to teach and nurture your children, look no further!"

— Dr. Stangl, Parent

"My son has been attending SJPDS since Kindergarten and currently in 5th grade. He absolutely loves it and wishes there was a Middle school! We've seen him grow and thrive over the years at SJPDS. He's challenged to help him reach his potential. The small class sizes really allow the Teachers to get to know each child and work closely work with them. I would highly recommend the school."

“I love the fact that not only is my daughter getting an awesome education but she is learning how to be the best person she can be and a leader to the community. This school knows how to build leaders and children who will impact the world.”

"My oldest is about to graduate from high school now.  Thanks to St. John's he was reading at age 4 and off to a great start. He's now going to play baseball on scholarship at Wilmington University."

"Sending our daughter to Transitional Kindergarten (TK) was one of the best decisions my husband and I could have made for her. She is on the “younger” side (August birthday) compared to her peers in her class for the past 2 years (3’s and 4’s class).  We were definitely able to see how only a couple months difference in age can make a big difference with academic and emotional development.  We debated sending our daughter to TK.  We did our research regarding what is offered in TK vs. kindergarten.  We met with the TK teachers as well as spoke with past parents of students who attended TK. Everyone we spoke with said “You will never regret giving your daughter this extra year.  It really is a gift you can give her.”  We found that TK seemed to offer a “combined” curriculum on information learned in the 4’s class and building on that, while also introducing some new information that is also offered in kindergarten.  This extra year would give our daughter that time to build on her skills and increase her confidence with her academic abilities as well as her confidence within herself.  We have seen our daughter flourish in TK not only academically but also with her overall confidence.   An extra bonus is the great friends she has met! Sending our daughter to TK has allowed her to really gain the confidence within herself and her abilities in the classroom.  As parents, we would highly recommend sending your child to TK!"
