SJPDS School Mascot Gets a New Look

The St. John's Parish Day School Parents' Association (PA) is pleased to announce a new look for the SJPDS school mascot, Spirit Bear! The PA had a record-breaking year of Used Uniform and Spirit Wear sales which helped fund an upgrade to our beloved mascot.

Spirit Bear was transformed from head to toe! The costume upgrades include:

  • Improved structured head shape
  • Enhanced eyesight
  • Refined ears that stand up
  • Head ventilation and temperature regulation
  • Rubber soles on feet
  • Improved Bear-like physique
  • Machine washable body
  • An accurate color shirt that matches the custom St. John's green

Spirit Bear's new look was first announced in the Spirit Newsletter on May 19th with a fun video (below). Then, Spirit Bear debuted his new look with his first appearance at the Lower School Field Day on May 26th. The students welcomed Spirit Bear with lots of hugs, cheer, and compliments on his new look.

Please take a look at Spirit Bear's transformation in the video below, where the Parents' Association treated him to treatments at Thao's Nails & Spa; he had a workout with Ms. Ficca and cleaned up for Field Day.
