On Friday, April 29th, 2022, ten members of St. John's class of 2022 competed in the annual 5th Grade Battle of the Books (BOB) academic competition. The competition consists of teams of five students who read ten assigned books in advance and then answer questions to see which group knows the books the best.

 

This year, St. John's sent two teams, Page 51 and The Book Crooks, to compete in the Howard County BOB hosted at Merriweather Post Pavillion. With over 250 teams participating, Page 51 won second place for best poster. The Book Crooks won 2nd place in the competition and 3rd place for costumes. Most importantly, our Bears tried their very best and had much fun! We are so proud of our 5th Graders and their dedication to reading! Thank you to Ms. Grubb for helping the students prepare for the event! Great job, Bears!
