Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Parent Resources

May is Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month – a celebration of the contributions that generations of AAPIs have made to American history, society, and culture. While our students will be celebrating AAPI Heritage Month by exploring AAPI history, accomplishments, and culture in our very own Media Center, we invite you to celebrate and learn about AAPI month with your child(ren) beyond the classroom. Below are helpful parent resources for celebrating:

Help kids celebrate the rich history and culture of the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have contributed to America’s diversity and success with resources from the Smithsonian, the National Park Service, and more.

These stories recommended by Asian American children's book authors make excellent conversation starters about different cultures and the importance of respecting others.

This website is dedicated to AAPI Heritage Month and offers an abundant collection of information covering various topics including online events, media, history, and more.

Turn family movie nights into a learning opportunity with these AAPI movies and shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and more.
