Alumni Spotlight: Allison Green '10

Picture of a Zoom meeting projected on a dry erase boardOur Lower School had a guest SJPDS alumni appearance at Chapel! Allison Green, class of 2010, joined them to share her experience with “cooperating in faith” (working together), which is the Chapel topic for this week. Students learned about how four friends worked together to get a paralytic man in to see Jesus. They dug a hole in the roof and lowered him down as the crowd was too large to get him inside any other way.

Allison shared that from her experience at SJPDS supporting our partner school, Mbaikini, in Kenya through the Walk for Wamunyu, she learned how important it is to cooperate with others in faith to help others. She continued to follow this path by participating in the St John’s Church youth group. At our school, she participated in group outreach activities like raking leaves for the elderly and volunteering at the Days End Farm Horse Rescue.

Now at college, she continues her outreach efforts with her sorority. She and her sorority sisters help a blind man weekly by reading his bills to him and cleaning his home. They also fundraise for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, helping to pay for children to accomplish their dreams. It was so wonderful to have an alum come back and join us in Chapel to share her experiences after St. John’s. Our alums make such a difference in the world. Way to go, Bears!
