For Our Families

Please give to the Annual Fund

Please consider making a donation on-line to the 2009-2010 Annual Fund. There is a $2,135 gap between the cost of educating each of our students and what St. John's charges in tuition, so please make a generous tax-deductible contribution today to help close that gap. Celebrate the work of our teachers and staff by making a donation to the Annual Fund today!

October 16th, 2009The 2009-2010 Annual Fund - "Well-Being- Now and Into the Future"

Our "Well-Being - Now and Into the Future" Annual Fund Campaign has begun in earnest with the mailing of notices and pledge cards.  This is an opportunity for families and friends of the school to support the exceptional care for students, the continuing high quality of academics provided, and the development of faith and character that all combine to make a St. John's education the best gift that we can give to our children!  Please consider a generous gift to St. John's to show your love and support for the school and its faculty and staff.

February 20th, 20102010 Gala - "Blazing West!"

The 2010 Gala was a HUGE success due to all of our wonderful families and sponsors!

By all appearances, this was one of our most successful Galas yet, and we could not have accomplished what we did without the help of our wonderful and intrepid Gala staff of Norma Richardson, Sheila Welton, and Anne Hanchett who devoted their lives to this event over the past few months to make it the wonderful success that it was - thank you, thank you, thank you!

Along with the staff, a host of volunteers worked behind the scenes to make the evening a success, and we are so grateful to everyone who gave so graciously of their time to pull it all together.

One of these volunteers, Mary Jane Rudnicki, performed miracles for the evening, working tirelessly behind the scenes for months garnering sponsors, attendees, restaurants, auction items, enthusiasm, and so much more!!  She is indeed our Gala Angel - watching over us, meeting our needs, and keeping us blessed!  Thank you for all your hard work behind the scenes, Mrs. Rudnicki.

Another phenomenal volunteer who worked to make the event a stunning visual success was our artistic coordinator, Colleen Citrano.  She and her crew of workers transformed our Maryland school into a vision of the wild west that put everyone in the mood; it was a terrific tranformation, and we are so appreciative.

We also thank the creative force behind our Gala promotional video, Kurt Dutra and the amazing crew at 15four.  A Gala at SJPDS would not be the same without his whimsical assistance in video creation.

I could go on and on about our volunteers, each of whom took the proverbial "bull by the horns" in their respective areas of responsibility and wrestled it into submission.  Again, thank you to everyone who assisted with this effort.

Last, but certainly not least, we thank our sponsors, who are listed below.  We truly appreciate the on-going support we have enjoyed from our Title Sponsor, Howard County General Hospital under the direction of CEO, Mr. Vic Broccolino.  Vic , and his delightful wife Tina, both attended the Gala again this year as they have done for many Galas in the past, and we love having them celebrate with us.  Please help us thank all of our sponsors for their incredible support for this year's Gala!

Headmaster's February Book Selection

Unspun - Finding Facts in a World of Disinformation by Brooks Jackson and Kathleen Hall Jamieson, 2007 (ISBN: 978-1-4000-6566-0).  Every day we are bombarded by information in advertising, in the media, and on the web that may or may not be true, reliable, or worthy of our attention.  Wouldn't it be great to have a "reliability filter" that would screen what we see and hear to help us know what to believe or trust?  This book helps.
