Service to others is an important part of our program and curriculum at St. John’s. Children are encouraged to be responsible citizens and thoughtful to others. Throughout the year we will have collections of food, school supplies, coats, and other items to help those in need. Children travel to the Fairhaven Retirement Community bringing joy and music to the ears of those in residence.
In the Spring of 2010, our children participated in the Walk for Wamunyu, raising funds to purchase wheel chairs, and other items necessary to disabled children who attend the Wamanyu Special Needs school. Wamanyu Special Needs school prepares and then mainstreams children into the Mbakini School, our sister school in Kenya. Through pen pal letters and other fund raising activities our children have seen first hand that they can make a difference in the world.
