St. John’s Go Back

Headmaster's February Book Selection

Every day we are bombarded by information in advertising, in the media, and on the web that may or may not be true, reliable, or worthy of our attention.  Wouldn't it be great to have a "reliability filter" that would screen what we see and hear to help us know what to believe or trust?  This book, by the founders of the website FactCheck.org, helps bring sanity into our world of overwhelming hype.  While slightly dated in its examples (Bush/Kerry/etc.), having been published in 2007, it provides a balanced look at the hyperbole and outright fabrications we encounter daily and helps us filter our world in positive ways.  In it you will find some of the tools we need to become the "reliability filter" ourselves.

It is short, very readable, balanced, sane, and useful.  I recommend it highly.
