When our students, parents, or staff are asked what makes St. John’s special and unique, the most common answer we hear is the community. Over 50 years ago, our community was founded in love, nurturing and the value of giving back. Still today, teachers at St. John’s are known for providing exceptional care and concern for each child and for becoming part of our community by volunteering outside of their teaching responsibilities.
Over the history of the school, families have been tightly woven into the fabric of our St. John’s culture. We value the individual gifts that every parent and family member bring to our community. We encourage and expect families to share their gifts within our school community. When you share your gifts with us, they are in turn passed on to our students. There are many, many ways to give and become involved. You can support the classroom, school events, and larger school-wide goals on committees. Giving back should be a comfortable match to your talents, which may range from volunteering for Pizza Friday to sponsoring events. We also encourage you to become active in our Parents' Association to help with planning and preparing many wonderful family-oriented events throughout the school year. The easiest way to volunteer is to access the Signup Genius on our web page.
Regularly, there are descriptions in our school newsletter about how to become involved and give back. You are valued members of our community and thank you for sharing your gifts.
