Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a program that is unique to St. John'sParish Day School, serving children who could benefit from the gift of another year in order to thrive in Kindergarten. These children have already completed a four-year-old program and are turning five between May 1st and November 1st.

Students do not have to master all of the skills needed for Kindergarten. Instead, we can foster their natural curiosity and instill a sense of confidence in a way that is age and developmentally appropriate for each child.

TK is designed to bridge the path from preschool to Kindergarten, setting children up for a lifelong love of and success in learning.

The program includes field trips throughout the school year to further develop our students and prepare them for the next steps in their educational journey.

Program Schedule Monday- Friday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm (Drop off between 8:10-8:30)

TK includes the following Specials: STEM, Music, Art, PE, Media, and Spanish
"Though my daughter was academically ready for Kindergarten, we wanted to give her an extra year of social growth. We explored a variety of programs in the county, but once we came to a visit day at St. John's, we knew it was the perfect fit for our family.
We feel that the TK program does an excellent job living into the goal of educating the whole person."
